What kind of food do we cook? Do we have a menu system? Do we cater for vegetarians?
Many people are understandably interested to know about the food in our camp before they book!
When you book with us you can choose to book either room only or full board.
When you book room only you can opt to use our self catering kitchen which contains a sink with running water, cutlery, basic utensils and a gas stove.
Full board consists of 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you book room only we would assume you are planning to come with everything you need to self cater from Narok as out here there are very limited supplies available.
We do our best to keep our prices as pocket friendly as possible but guests should bear in mind our distance from town and the road conditions we have to get our supplies though to get here. We are in a remote location and therefore we cannot compete with the prices you will be able to find around towns in Kenya, if visiting the Maasai Mara you should expect things to cost a bit more.

Do we offer an al a carte menu?
No we don’t. Due to the fact we are in a remote location with no mains electricity and a bad road network, getting supplies and storing them is often difficult and expensive. Also we often deal with last minute bookings and therefore don’t know how many people we will be catering for from day to day. For those reasons we have a set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner based on the supplies we’ve been able to source at that time beacuse all our meals are freshly prepared each day. Everybody is different so to avoid wastage or anyone going hungry we usually offer a self service style from hot pots rather than plated and we will always do our best to cater for any special dietary requirements as long as we are informed in advance.
So what kinds of food do we cook?
Everyday is different but as a guide you can expect breakfast to consist of tea, coffee, cereals, fruit and a hot dish of eggs, pancakes and sweet potato. Lunch is usually packed up picnic style if you’re heading out for a full day gamedrive or at camp it could could be a pasta or rice salad with fruits. Dinner usually consists of three courses, soup, a hot main which could be based on a Western or an African/Kenyan style dish followed by a dessert. We also love doing BBQ’s here!
Hopefully this will help you understand what to expect from our food when you stay with us!
