Ngare Ndare Forest is a lush indigenous forest at the foothills of Mt. Kenya, close to Nanyuki. It makes a great stop over between Nairobi and Samburu.
Bright blue pools lie at the bottom of waterfalls and 200 year old trees stretch into the canopy supporting a rich variety of bird and animal life.
The forest is a protected area and a vital Elephant corridor linking the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Mount Kenya, which elephants have been using for centuries.
In the forest you can walk along the 40ft high canopy walk above the forest looking for Elephants and Buffalo below. You can also hike the trails to various waterfalls and swim in the pools, the best part!
