All our packages are based on staying with our own property Mara Explorers Camp & Backpackers when in Maasai Mara, either in our budget dome tents or our cottage accommodation depending on your budget.

If you are booking as one person the rate for one adult will apply, if you are booking as two people the rate for two adults will apply and so on. Please note we do not organise group joining safaris however we recommend checking out Helen In Wonderlust’s Rock My Adventure tours if you are looking for a group joining safari.

Nairobi National Park, Elephant Orphanage & Giraffe Centre Day Tour

We will pick you up early this morning (around 6am) from your accommodation and head to Nairobi National Park for an early morning game drive. This small park is one of the only places in the world where you can see wild game with a cityscape back drop. Early morning is the best time to try and catch sight of the elusive Rhino and see Lions as well as Giraffe, Zebra and a wide range of bird life among others. From here we will go to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for the 11-12pm daily public feeding display where you have the chance to get up close and personal with some baby elephants. Afterwards we will have a lunch stop (own expense) before we continue to the AFEW Giraffe Centre where you will have the opportunity to feed and kiss the endangered Rothschild Giraffe as you hear about the conservation efforts being made to preserve them. When we are finished here we will return you to your accommodation/preferred drop off point.

Maasai Mara Highlights - 2 night 3 day Road Safari Package

Day 1. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 7am this morning and proceed on the scenic journey towards the Maasai Mara. We will descend down the Great Rift Valley escarpment on route where you have the opportunity to stop for photos at the lookout point. There will be a 60km stretch of very rough road before we reach our destination but we should arrive at Mara Explorers Camp just outside the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. This afternoon we will enter the reserve for our first game drive of the safari. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! We will return to camp this evening for dinner and overnight. L,D
Day 2. Today we will head out early into the Maasai Mara for a full day game drive with a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. We will have time to explore large areas of the reserve today and visit an area frequented by Hippos and Crocodiles before we return to camp in the late afternoon/early evening for dinner and overnight. Day 3. After breakfast today you will have the opportunity to head out on foot for a guided nature walk to Siana hill where our local guides will explain to you about the flora and fauna, their traditional culture and uses for certain trees and plants in medicine. You will also look out for signs of wildlife. During the walk you will have the chance to visit our local primary school in term time if you wish. On returning to camp around 11am we will transfer you back to Nairobi with a lunch stop in Narok on route. We hope to arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon/early evening. B,L

Maasai Mara Bush Camping- 2 night 3 day Road Safari Package

Day 1. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 7am this morning and proceed on the scenic journey towards Maasai Mara. There will be a 60km stretch of very rough road before we reach our destination but we should arrive at Mara Explorers Camp just outside the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch.  After lunch we will enter the reserve for our first game drive of the safari. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! We will game drive our way to our overnight bush camp site on the banks of Sand River which we will be our base the next two nights. Here there are no facilities, just our camping tents and mobile kitchen. Tonight we will enjoy dinner under the stars around the campfire. L,D
Day 2. Today we will wake up for a sunrise breakfast in the bush. We’ll then head out for a full day game drive with a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. We will have time to explore large areas of the reserve today and visit an area frequented by Hippos and Crocodiles before we return to our bush camp in the late afternoon. You will have time to relax and enjoy the scenery as the sun sets. We will have a camp fire again tonight but we’ll likely be visited by wild animals such as Hyena and Elephants in the night. B,L,D
Day 3. This morning after breakfast there will be time to visit the spot where the Maasai Mara and Serengeti meet before we game drive our way out of the reserve. There will be time for you to have a shower and freshen up at Mara Explorers Camp before lunch at 12pm and then we will then transfer you back to Nairobi where we hope to arrive in the late afternoon/evening. Day 4. After breakfast today we will head to Naivasha for lunch on route to Nairobi. Lake Naivasha is famous for a wide variety of bird life including the African Fish Eagle and is also home to many Hippos. You will have the opportunity to take an afternoon boat trip on the lake for approximately 1 hour before returning to Nairobi where we should arrive in the late afternoon/early evening depending on traffic. Amboseli, Naivasha, Maasai Mara - 6 night 7 day Safari Package

Day 1. Nairobi to Amboseli
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 7.30am this morning and depart on the scenic journey by road to Amboseli, which will take us around 5 hours depending on traffic. This small national park is based at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and often there are stunning views of the mountain from here depending on the weather. We should arrive here in time for lunch and later we will go for an evening game drive in the park. We will stay just outside the edge of the park tonight, either at We4Kenya Campsite or Kibo Safari Camp, depending on whether you have chosen to do a camping or an accommodated safari. L,D
Day 2. Amboseli National Park
This morning we will depart early to explore Amboseli National Park, carrying our packed lunch with us. This park is famous for it’s huge herds of Elephants and wide range of bird species. There is also a lookout hill where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the viewpoint and look out over the marsh lands which are home to Hippos and Waterbucks below. We will return to our camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight. B,L,D
Day 3. Amboseli to Naivasha
Today after breakfast we will depart Amboseli and head to Naivasha which will be around a 7-8 hour drive. We will have lunch on route in Nairobi and close by to Naivasha you will have an opportunity to stop for photos at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. On arrival in Naivasha we will head to Camp Carnelley’s or Dea’s House & Gardens depending on whether you have chosen to do a basic camping or an accommodated safari and there will be some time to relax before dinner tonight. Day 4. Naivasha
Today we have a full day around Naivasha, there will be an opportunity for you to do a boat trip on the lake where hopefully you will get to see Hippos and the African Fish Eagle in action among other bird life. You will also be able to get out on bikes and head into Hell’s Gate National Park to explore this fascinating place with it’s rock formations and wildlife. You will cycle as you explore Fischers Tower, the Ol Njorowa Gorge where you can do a guided walk through the gorge and for those who would like you can also take a dip in the Ol Karia Geothermal spa (entry fee not included in safari price). This evening we will be our last night in Naivasha before heading tomorrow to the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. B,L,D
Day 5. Naivasha to Maasai Mara
We will depart Naivasha this morning and make the journey to the Maasai Mara which will take us around 5-6 hours. From Narok there will be a stretch of rough road before we reach our destination but we hope to arrive at Mara Explorers Camp & Backpackers just outside the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch.
