What to expect: This is an adventure camping safari, we provide camping tents and ground mattresses, you will need to carry a sleeping bag (or they can also be hired from us). In general you should expect the campsites to have pit latrine toilets and cold showers, some places will have flush toilets and hot showers available but not all, bush camps may have no facilities at all except a hole in the ground toilet which we dig ourselves. Some campsites will not have any bar and beverage facilities but you will have ample opportunity to stop for snack and drinks shopping during the safari. For those camps which do have bars we recommend supporting local businesses and buying from them as you enjoy their facilities such as charging and wifi. Our camping safari vehicles are fitted with inverters and charging points so you can charge camera batteries and phones on the move when camping in remote locations. These camping trips are ideal for laid back friendly adventure travellers who will enjoy the camaraderie of travelling and hanging out with their crew (driver guide & cook) throughout the trip and travelling to remote locations with some stretches of rough roads. They are not suitable for anyone wanting any kind of pampering, luxury accommodations or private toilet and shower facilities as upgrades are not always available.

What to expect: This is an adventure camping safari specifically designed for travellers who like getting off the normal tourist trail. We will provide camping tents and ground mattresses, you will need to carry a sleeping bag (or they can also be hired from us). In general you should expect the campsites to have pit latrine toilets and cold showers, some places will have flush toilets and hot showers available but not all, bush camps may have no facilities except a hole in the ground toilet which we dig ourselves! Some campsites will not have any bar and beverage facilities but you will have an opportunity to stop for snack and drinks shopping during the safari. For those camps which do have bars we recommend supporting local businesses and buying from them as you enjoy their facilities such as charging and wifi. Our camping safari vehicles are fitted with inverters and changing points so you can charge camera batteries and phones on the move when camping in remote locations. This camping trip is ideal for laid back friendly adventure travellers who will enjoy the camaraderie of travelling and socialising with their crew (driver guide & cook) throughout the trip and travelling to remote locations with many stretches of rough roads. It is not suitable for anyone wanting any kind of luxury accommodations or private toilet and shower facilities as upgrades are not always available on this route. You will require a moderate level of fitness for this itinerary and need to be ready for some hot dusty days.

Occasionally we may be forced to make changes on route due to poor road conditions, weather, game movements, vehicle breakdown or other circumstances out of our control. A flexible attitude is important. No responsibility is accepted for delays experienced as a result of any of the above-mentioned. Whilst every effort is made to adhere to the confirmed itineraries, we reserve the right to effect changes should this be deemed necessary. Once a booking has been confirmed, we guarantee not to surcharge on the price of the safari. However such guarantee does not cover increases in park entry fees by the relevant authorities which we have no control over. Any increase in the booking price occasioned by the fluctuation in exchange rates between the date of quotation and the date of final payment shall be covered by the client.

AMENDMENTS

If you wish to make alterations to your safari/booking at any time after it has been confirmed by us you will incur a US$ 50 administration fee. You will also be liable for any other costs incurred from our suppliers for the adjustments.

CANCELLATIONS

By the client: If you wish to cancel your booking you must notify us in writing via email in the first instance for it to be recognised.

If you cancel a safari/booking at any time after your booking as been confirmed by us you will lose your non-refundable deposit. We advise you to take out an insurance policy at the time of booking which will cover cancellation fees.

When we confirm a safari package with you the price is based on the specified number of travellers at the time. In the event of a change in traveller numbers the price per person and overall balance is subject to change.

Any cancellations, last minute changes or shortening of duration less than 30 days prior to trip commencement will still be liable for full payment and will not result in any reduction of costs. If you leave a tour for any reason, join it late or wish to reduce its length after it has commenced we are not obliged to make any refunds for unused services.

By The Company: In extreme circumstances we may cancel a safari at any time prior to departure, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or in the event of any other external activity which causes it to be not viable for us to operate the planned itinerary.

If we cancel your tour, you can either choose another departure date or alternatively receive a refund of your deposit. In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs we have incurred. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Optional activities are not included in the tour price and are not part of our contract.

You accept that any assistance given by your driver/guide in arranging optional activities does not render us liable for them in any way. The contract for the provision of that activity will be between you and the activity provider.

PRICING AND ADVERTISING

Should any errors occur on our website, brochures or other advertising or marketing material with regard to pricing, we reserve the right to correct it as soon as it is brought to our attention and cannot be held bound by it.

On some occasions photographs may be taken by our guides or camp staff during your safari and may be used by Mara Explorers for display or marketing purposes in the future. You consent to us using images of you taken during your stay for advertising and promotional purposes in our premises and/or on our website and social media sites. If you prefer not to be featured, please inform us before your departure and we will respect your wishes.

PRIVACY POLICY
