Nairobi National Park, Elephant Orphanage & Giraffe Centre Day Tour

We will pick you up early this morning (around 6am) and head to Nairobi National Park for an early morning game drive. This small park is one of the only places in the world where you can see wild game with a cityscape back drop. Early morning is the best time to try and catch sight of the elusive Rhino and see Lions as well as Giraffe, Zebra and a wide range of bird life amongst other things. From here we will go to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for the 11-12pm daily public feeding display where you have the chance to get up close and personal with some baby elephants. From here we will have a lunch stop (own expense) before we continue to the AFEW Giraffe Centre where you will have the opportunity to feed and kiss the endangered Rothschild Giraffe as you hear about the conservation efforts being made to preserve them. Afterwards we will return you to your accommodation.

Maasai Mara Highlights - 2 night 3 day Road Safari Package

Day 1. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 7am this morning and proceed on the scenic journey towards the Maasai Mara. We will descend down the Great Rift Valley escarpment on route where you have the opportunity to stop for photos at the lookout point. There will be a 60km stretch of very rough road before we reach our destination but we should arrive at Mara Explorers Camp just outside the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. This afternoon we will enter the reserve for our first game drive of the safari. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Day 2. Today we will head out early into the Maasai Mara for a full day game drive with a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. We will have time to explore large areas of the reserve today and visit an area frequented by Hippos and Crocodiles before we return to camp in the late afternoon/early evening for dinner and overnight. Day 3. After breakfast today you will have the opportunity to head out on foot for a guided nature walk where our local Maasai guides will explain to you about their traditional culture and uses for certain trees and plants in their medicine and you will also look for signs of wildlife. During the walk you will also have the chance to visit our local primary school in term time. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi this morning and depart on the scenic journey by road to Amboseli. This small national park is based at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and often there are stunning views of the mountain from here. This afternoon we will do a late afternoon/evening game drive and we will stay just outside the edge of the park tonight. L,D
Day 2. Amboseli National Park
Today we have a full day at Amboseli to explore the national park and we will carry a packed lunch with us. This park is famous for it’s huge herds of Elephants and wide range of bird species. There is also a lookout hill which you will have the opportunity to climb up to the viewpoint over the marsh lands which are home to Hippos and Waterbucks. We will return to our camp/lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight. B,L,D
Day 3. Amboseli to Naivasha
Today after breakfast we will depart Amboseli and head to Naivasha. We will have lunch on route and close by to Naivasha you will have an opportunity to stop for photos at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Day 4. Naivasha
Today we have a full day around Naivasha, there will be an opportunity for you to do a boat trip on the lake where hopefully you will get to see Hippos and the African Fish Eagle in action amongst other bird life. You will also be able to get out on bikes and head into Hell’s Gate National Park to explore this fascinating place with it’s rock formations and wildlife. You will cycle the parks 8km track to the Ol Njorowa Gorge where you can do a guided walk through the gorge before returning. (For those people not able to cycle an alternative walking excursion in Crater Lake Nature Reserve can be arranged). Kenya Explorers - 11 night 12 day Road Safari Package

Day 1. Nairobi to Tsavo West
This morning we will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi and we will make our way to Tsavo West National Park with lunch on route. Tsavo West is home to Mzima Springs which is the source of drinking water for the whole of Mombasa as well as some stunning scenery made up of rock and lava formations. We will overnight at our camp/lodge inside the park tonight. L,D
Day 2. Tsavo West to Amboseli
We will have the morning in Tsavo West today before we make our way out and head to Amboseli where we will stay just outside of the national park for the next two nights. Hopefully if weather is clear we will get great views of Mount Kilimanjaro during our stay here. B,L,D
Day 3. Amboseli
Today we have the whole day to game drive and explore Amboseli National Park. This park is home to huge herds of Elephants and a variety of bird life, you will also have time to climb to the top of the observation hill and look out over the whole wetlands area. B,L,D
Day 4. Amboseli to Naivasha
We will depart Amboseli after breakfast and make our way to Naivasha where we will spend our next two nights close to the lake shores. Day 5. Naivasha

Day 7. Samburu
Today we have the whole day to explore Samburu National Reserve. The best time to do game drives here is in the early morning and late afternoon due to the high midday temperatures. The middle part of the day is best for relaxing! B,L,D
Day 8. Samburu to Nakuru
We will leave Samburu this morning and make our way back down across the equator to Nakuru, having lunch on route. We will overnight outside Lake Nakuru National Park for the next two nights in a peaceful camp. B,L,D
Day 9. Nakuru
Today we will head to Nakuru National Park with a picnic lunch and spend the day in this small park which is home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and is a protected area for both the Black and White Rhino. We’ll exit the park and return to our camp in the afternoon. B,L,D
Day 10. Nakuru to Maasai Mara
We will depart Nakuru this morning and make the journey to the Maasai Mara. There will be some stretches of rough road before we reach our destination but hopefully the place will be worth it! We will enter the reserve for an afternoon/evening game drive. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo.
